Owning a home is one of the biggest investments you'll ever make. Staying on top of routine

maintenance can help protect your home's value, prevent costly repairs, and keep everything running smoothly.

Monthly

Maintenance

  •   Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
  •   Change or inspect HVAC air filters.
  •   Check for plumbing leaks under sinks and around toilets.
  •   Clean kitchen range hood filters.    Inspect faucets, showerheads, and toilets for leaks.
  •   Check your home's exterior for signs of damage.
  •   Keep gutters and downspouts free of debris when needed.
  •   Inspect your water heater for leaks or corrosion.

Every 3-6 Months

  •   Deep clean appliances.
  •   Flush your water heater (if recommended by the manufacturer).
  •   Clean dryer vents and lint buildup.
  •   Check caulking around windows, tubs, and showers.
  •   Inspect garage door springs and lubricate moving parts.
  •   Trim shrubs and trees away from your home.

 

Yearly Maintenance

Schedule HVAC

service before heating and cooling seasons.

 Have your roof

inspected for damaged or missing shingles.

Clean and inspect gutters and downspouts.

Inspect your chimney and fireplace (if applicable).

Check your home's foundation for cracks or drainage issues.

-Pressure wash siding, decks, and driveways. -Reseal decks, fences, or concrete as needed.                -Inspect windows and doors for weather stripping and drafts   -Test your sump pump (if you have one).

Review your

Homeowners insurance coverage.

• Check your home's emergency kit and replace expired supplies.

A little maintenance throughout the year can save thousands of dollars in future repairs and help your home remain safe, comfortable, and valuable for years to come.
